2007 - 2009 Executive Board

The new 2007-2009 Executive Board was appointed today. I will lead the organization as president and will work with Alvin and Paul to move the fraternity forward. This will be my second term as E-Board president. I held the position from 2003-2005. The next two years will be instrumental for the fraternity. My goal as president and historian is to re-vive our historic chapter at SUNY New Paltz and expand to other chapters. We'll see what the next two years bring for Delphic.

20th Re-Establishing Anniversary Weekend

Incredible is all I have to say. It was great to see two of the original re-establishing brothers attend our 20th Re-establishing Anniversary Dinner. It was great to watch two Delphics in their 40ies meet two new brothers in their early 20ies. And finally, I was not the oldest Delphic of GST in the room. I loved that. smile As we move forward I wish the organization another 20 years. All the best to All of Delphic!

I have to acknowledge Delphic Brother Komain's great work on creating a MySpace.com for the fraternity. Great work Ko! This is a great tribute to the organization as we approach our 135th anniversary. Peace Bro!

National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC) 2006 Spring Conference

Three Delphics attended the NMGC 2006 Spring Conference last weekend at NYU. It was an excellent event. More than 10 multicultural fraternities/sororities came together to discuss important issues and get to know each other better. We shared resources and talked about the challenges our organizations face in the larger context of fraternity/sorority life. It was a great experience for one of our younger members who just joined the E-Board. The conference ended with an inspiring talk from a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and later a few members went out for a light dinner and drinks. A good time was had by all. I look forward to the Fall 2006 NMGC Conference. For more information about the National Multicultural Greek Council visit http://www.nationalmgc.org.

Theta Chapter Spring 2006 Crossing

Congratulations to Morgan Pomeranz! He became the newest brother to join the legendary Delphic Fraternity this past weekend at the Theta chapter in Binghamton, NY. Twelve brothers were present at his initiation and by the end of the night we had a total of 14 brothers representing in Binghamton. We all then went over to an Asian student event at the Ice Box where a great number of fraternities/sororities represented. I have not seen so many Greek letters in one place in a long while. We all had a great time. I am always filled with such profound pride when a new member crosses into the land of Delphic. May the legacy continue!

Association of Fraternity Advisors

I just became an affiliate member of the Association of Fraternity Advisors, an organization that aims to enhance its members' ability to create fraternity and sorority experiences that positively affect students, host institutions, and communities. I hope to learn a great deal from professionals across this country who have made advising fraternities/sororities their careers. Spring 2006

There is a lot of activity on the DGST front. E-Board changes, Theta chapter events, our new python just surfaced. The year looks good so far. There is a lot to work on this summer, and if all goes well, fall 2006 will be amazing. Delphic becomes 135 in October. I'm already thinking about the updates to the history booklet. I hope to have one finalized by the end of the year.

historian and e-board VP of communications
